So, where we going?

We know that two white kids traveling in Europe for a month is not exactly a new concept (http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.com/2008/01/23/19-travelling/).  Then again, though, these are not just any two white kids:

 

We’re taking off for Berlin a week from today, provided both of us can find our passports by then.  The weekend before we leave, Kendrew is serving as the best man at our buddy Brent’s wedding.  If he embarrasses himself sufficiently during his toast, he might be thrilled to flee the country for a while.  

We plan on spending a few days in Berlin before leaving for Prague.  Kendrew is especially excited for Prague, because he hears there are tons of beautiful women as well as flocks of ugly men.  In other words, he’s got better odds than he normally has when he's forced to compete for women against investment bankers in Manhattan.  Basically, we might be in Prague for longer than we have tentatively planned.

From Prague, we’re hopping a train across the continent to Barcelona.  We’ll probably irritate quite a few people with drunken “U-S-A!” chants during that 15-hour train ride.  Maybe we’ll decide to be culturally sensitive and instead chant “Oo-Ese-Ah.” (Someone might need to check that Spanish for me.)

The next leg of our trip will probably take us to Amsterdam, at which point we might be prevented from entering the Heineken Brewery because we’ll smell like a combination of four-day-old beer and Rosie O’Donnell’s grundel (grundle?).

After Amsterdam, we’ll head to either Edinburgh or Dublin.  Yay, speaking English.  The trip will end in Dublin and the Notre Dame-Navy season opener.  So essentially we’re flying halfway across the world to see an American football game that is often played at Giants Stadium.
